What is PrescribeIT®?

PrescribeIT® is Canada’s national e-prescribing service, developed and maintained by Canada Health Infoway in collaboration with Health Canada, provinces, territories, and industry partners. The service enables prescribers, such as physicians and nurse practitioners, to electronically transmit prescriptions directly from an electronic medical record (EMR) to a patient’s pharmacy of choice.

By facilitating secure, digital prescription transmission, PrescribeIT® improves medication management, enhances patient safety, and reduces prescription fraud and errors while ensuring patient privacy and pharmacy choice.
