At Canada Health Infoway (Infoway), we believe that a connected and collaborative health care system leads to better patient outcomes. We recognize the critical role of industry in delivering the technological solutions that power digital health.

About the Industry Collaborative

To accelerate the implementation of the Shared Pan-Canadian Interoperability Roadmap (the Roadmap), the Infoway Interoperability Industry Collaborative (Industry Collaborative) was established in 2023.

The Industry Collaborative brings together health technology companies, policymakers, and interoperability experts to align efforts and ensure digital health solutions work seamlessly across Canada.

Members

The Industry Collaborative includes:

  • 30+ senior leaders from health technology companies – Representing vendors that build hospital information systems, electronic medical records, clinical data repositories, health information exchanges, and electronic care coordination solutions.
  • Representatives from Infoway – Providing strategic oversight and coordination.
  • Experts and officials – Invited to contribute insights on specific topics.

This multi-partner collaboration ensures that technological solutions align with national interoperability goals while meeting the needs of clinicians and patients.

The Interoperability Industry Collaborative Charter and Toolkit

The Interoperability Industry Collaborative Charter (the Charter) is a set of guiding principles developed by Canada Health Infoway's Industry Collaborative. It articulates a shared vision for connected care in Canada, aiming to unify health technology partners, providers, and government bodies in advancing interoperability within the healthcare system.

A Charter Toolkit (the Toolkit) has been developed to support its adoption. The Toolkit provides resources to help organizations promote and integrate the Charter’s principles.

Interoperability Industry Collaborative Charter

The Charter is intended to be embraced by Canada's health technology partners, healthcare providers, and federal, provincial, and territorial governments.
